What a busy day! Today I went for all my vaccinations. BLEH! I had four shots but am now proudly safe from any number of nasty things. The nurse was wonderful and didn't make me feel at all ridiculous as I carried on and made a fool of myself. She got three of four shots into me in under five seconds, and then switched to my other arm for the fourth, giving me just enough time to take a breath before getting the one in, too. I appreciated so very much that she was efficient and kind!
I also booked my flights. YAY! I leave Edmonton on July 15th, arrive in London on the 16th, and spend the night there. Then I leave on the 17th to arrive in Cape Town at 8:00 am on the 18th. Flying home I have no sleepover in London, just an 8 hour layover. I arrive back in Edmonton on August 19th.
With travel insurance, the flights cost me just under $3100. I knew it would be that much, but I was still hoping for less. Oh well, years from now the last thing I'll remember about the trip is how much the flights cost, right?
