I love my Kindle. The ability to have hundreds of books on one light weight device is a marvelous invention! I have confirmed that my Kindle will work in South Africa, which means I will also have all of Amazon at my disposal and never need to worry about not having something to read. I thought my Kindle was great for every day life, but I suspect it's about to earn its stripes for traveling!
When I was backpacking in Europe I always carried at least three or four books at any given time. One that I was reading, one for when I finished that one, and at least one or two extra in case one of the others turned out not to be good. Of course, sometimes I couldn't stand to leave a book behind after I had finished it and then things started to get silly...
I read a lot and can easily get through a book in a day or two. So I'm always on the lookout for a new good book. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them in the comments. I'm about to spend almost 30 hours on a airplane and would love a few good books to get me through!
